KGB Radio: Pacquiao vs Vargas Recap, More

Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio

It seems that we have received official confirmation that Manny Pacquiao isn’t quite done as a fighter, assuming he decides not to retire. It’s impossible to know what he’ll do at this stage, but his decision win over Jessie Vargas proved that he’s still very much relevant, if not one of the top few welterweights in the world.

On this week’s episode of Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio, Patrick Connor gives his take on Pacquiao’s win and his potential future — maybe even a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. — and the rest of the Top Rank Pay-Per-View that Pacquiao and Vargas headlined. The skirmish between Jessie Magdaleno and Nonito Donaire was worthwhile, for instance, and Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez showed why he is a young fighter to keep tabs on.

There are fights this weekend too, and those are covered in this episode. No, Luis Ortiz’s matchup against Malik Scott nor Danny Garcia’s walk in the park with Samuel Vargas are anything to get excited about on paper, but they’re happening — on HBO and Spike, respectively. There are more interesting fights dotting their undercards, and those are mentioned as well.
