KGB Radio: Lou Duva Tribute, Puncher vs Puncher Bouts

Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio

It’s never easy bidding farewell to established and generally beloved members of the fight community. This past week, we unfortunately said to goodbye to trainer, manager and promoter Lou Duva.

The one-of-a-kind Lou Duva, 1922-2017

It’s possible remember him from being in the corner for fighters like Evander Holyfield, Meldrick Taylor and Vinny Pazienza. Or you might remember the various scuffles and press conference incidents he often found himself involved in. The point is, you remember him.

This week on Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio we also remembered Lou. From his antics and mannerisms to his history as a fighter and how he helped push the promotional outlet Main Events along, we remembered him.

And in honor of what should be an exciting bout this weekend between two punchers in David Lemieux and Curtis Stevens, we talked about puncher vs. puncher bouts in boxing history.

David Lemieux vs Curtis Stevens, in some other language

George Foreman vs. Ron Lyle is almost always a show-stopper when it comes to discussing all-time great slugfests between punchers, but there were others we got to.
